2020 Meetings

Our meetings are held on the third Monday of the month and our venue is open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Meetings are free for all Taunton Deane Divas members and there is a small charge of £5 for non-members (please note you can only attend two WI meetings as a guest).

2020 Monthly Meeting Programme

20th January: Goats Milk Skin Care – Nick King will share his experiences of goat keeping and entertain us with stories of his televised soap making and the benefits of goats milk beauty products..

17th February: Steak ‘n Fritz to Fish ‘n Chips – The Revd Fabian Wuyts, vicar of St James’ tells us of his interesting life journey from Belgium toTaunton.

16th March: Choir in an Evening – Catherine Mowat is the choir mistress at Wood Street Choir where they shake away the tensions of the day and feel the magic brought by singing.

20th April: Young offender – Michael Maisey – Author of the book ‘Young Offender’ provides an insightful talk on; “no matter how far down the scale you have gone, change is possible.”

18th May: Health and Wellness – Jo Sale, a qualified Health and Wellness Coach, provides an insightful session on helping people realise their true potential and lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.

15th June: Power of Attorneys – Charlotte Dullaway – Will talk of both lasting and enduring POAs, the benefits, and the process of arranging them.

20th July: Freewheelers / Blood Bikes – Freewheelers EVS offer out of hours and free of charge blood delivery to the NHS. Their slogan “Riding for Life” describes the operation perfectly. They have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest UK honour for a volunteer organisation.

17th August: Holiday month!  No meeting.

21st September: Marie Antionette: Guide to Farming – Sarah Harris gives us an amusing talk about her attempts at farming with hilarious results.

19th October57 Cathedrals  – Jill Perryman bought herself a camper van, travelled the UK seeking out the obscure and quirky aspects of British Cathedral Churches.

16th November: Dogs Trust – Amy Bingham – Gives us an insight into the Dogs Trust, known until 2003 as the National Canine Defence League. It is the largest dog welfare charity in the United Kingdom, caring for over 15,000 animals each year.

21st December: Seasonal Festivities -Christmas Party!
